Perret’s band, The Electric Epic, brought the house down at Paris’ most prestigious stage, Olympia. The buzz from his fledgling group lit up the social networks, growing exponentially as expectations soared for the release of their first album. Renowned musician/composer, John Zorn, described their music as “an emotional powerhouse” and recorded the album on his own label, Tzadik. The album sold like hotcakes, snapped up by a core of fans delighted by this musical omnivore’s fusion of all kinds of music. Perret burst into the jazzosphere as a saxophonist, playing solo and anchoring both mainstream and ground-breaking brass sections. He cut three albums with the accompaniment of a trail-blazing ensemble, recording tracks that opened up uncharted terrain. His latest solo album, entitled FREE was released in 2016 on the Kakoum Records label (Harmonia Mundi Distribution).
