Q&A with Mark Marczyk
Ottawa Jazz: What are you going to be performing in your Ottawa appearance?
Mark: we'll be playing music from all of our studio albums, plus some rearrangements of classics we've dug up and even a couple of new songs we've been working on.
Ottawa Jazz: What is your inspiration right now?
Mark: being together. really. every time we see each other (never mind play with one another), even if 6 feet apart and behind barriers and masks, we are inspired. one of the silver linings of the covid cloud is the opportunity to recognize what we have and understand how fleeting it is. it makes the simple act of being in each other's physical presence a source of inspiration. lemon bucket is an incomprehensible phenomenon. we're really lucky to have found one another.

Lemon Bucket Orkestra is a balkan-klezmer-gypsy-party-punk-folk-brass band like no other. They first came into the public eye in 2012 when a video of their impromptu performance on a delayed flight went viral and got them attention from Jimmy Kimmel, Huff Post, and the New York Times. Since then they have won/been nominated for multiple awards and garnered international media praise for their high-octane live performances and tendency to break the fourth wall and literally dive into audiences at the finales of their shows.
