Marsh Dondurma is a blazing hot Jerusalem-based 16-member brass band. Celebrating their 13th anniversary – Dondurma has been keeping busy. What began as a local party, known only to Jerusalem’s live music scene soon became a well-known Israeli act. They perform regularly all over Israel and have cooperated in concerts and recordings with top Israeli artists and have performed at international festivals including: The Montreal Jazz Festival (Canada), The Guca Trumpet Festival (Serbia), The international Book Fair in Guadalajara (Mexico), The Red Sea Jazz Festival (Israel), The Krakow Jewish Festival (Poland) and The Moscow Klezmer Festival with performances in New York, Croatia, China, Taiwan and Milan as well.

Love a parade? Catch Marsh Dondurma in another appearance with the 8-member brass band The Bank Street Bonbons in a free performance on June 22 at 5pm. One band will begin performing at Confederation Park, while the other will start at Marion Dewar Plaza performing their own music for about an hour. Eventually the two bands will meet up at the same place – but no one knows where. “Two marching bands, twice the power,” exudes the Festival’s Programming Manager Petr Cancura, “the two bands will merge into a massive and thrilling 24-member band and in true improv style – no one knows what’s going to happen from there!”
