The Beeched Wailers are a jazz quintet from Ottawa, Canada. We’ve played together in other bands for years, and started The Beeched Wailers in January 2014.
We play original music written by members of the band, and always feature many other composers from Ottawa, Canada such as Steve Boudreau, Mark Ferguson, Garry Elliott, Petr Cancura, Mike Essoudry, Vince Rimbach and Peter Hum. We have hosted our Tuesday Night Jazz Jam on a weekly basis since March 2014, now at Irene's Pub.
The Beeched Wailers’ individual band member sideman credits read like a who’s-who of the international music industry - Dave Brubeck, Roy Hargrove Big Band, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Jamie Cullum and more.
We all reside in Ottawa, Canada, and work locally with groups as diverse as Prime Rib Big Band, Los Gringos, Old Stereo, Riishi Von Rex, Bank Street Bonbons, The Jivewires, Trouble Clef, and Tilda.
Winter Jazz Jams
As old as jazz itself, jam sessions are arguably the quintessential experience of the genre. After playing their respective shows jazz musicians come together, relax and play to their hearts content. Local musicians play with out-of-towners in unique and once in a lifetime combinations of musicians. And you never know who or what you might hear.
Don't miss this year's free Winter Jazz Jams during the TD Ottawa Winter Jazz Festival at La Nouvelle Scène's Bistro on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 9 & 10) after the last show (10:30pm).
Any jazz musician is welcome to join the jam!
