Internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning musicians Roddy Ellias (guitar) and Jean-Michel Pilc (pianist) have a magical musical relationship that will transport you.  Both self-taught musicians and composers, they each combine a deep relationship with classical music and of course jazz in their compositions, improvisations and interpretations of jazz standards.

Ellias has performed and/or recorded with many of the world’s leading jazz musicians including Lee Konitz, Tom Harrel, Joel Frahm, David Liebman, Kenny Wheeler, Cleo Laine, Ray Anderson, Michel Legrand, the Montreal Symphony and has toured with his own projects throughout Canada and the United States.

His latest two CDs, Sticks and Stones, and Monday’s Dream, have both received glowing reviews from highly respected publications Including Downbeat Magazine (Brad Farberman) , Just Jazz Guitar (Steve Kinigstein), All About Jazz (John Kelman), Sound/Stage Xperience (James Hale), the CBC (Chris Maskell) , and The Ottawa Citizen (Peter Hum and Doug Fischer).

Pianist and composer Jean-Michel Pilc has performed with numerous jazz giants including Roy Haynes, Billy Hart, Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman, Jean Toussaint, Rick Margitza, Kenny Werner, Martial Solal, Michel Portal, Daniel Humair, Marcus Miller, Kenny Garrett, Lenny White, Chris Potter, John Abercrombie, the Mingus Dynasty & Big Band, Lew Soloff and Richard Bona, among others. He has also worked with Harry Belafonte as his musical director and pianist, and has performed a duet with the legendary opera singer Jessye Norman.
Jean-Michel’s renowned trio, featuring bassist Francois Moutin and drummer Ari Hoenig has released numerous standout recordings, and as an active solo performer, he has appeared in concert internationally, as well as releasing four critically-acclaimed solo piano records. His new solo double album, Parallel, was released on Challenge Records in June 2018.
Having just met last summer while both teaching at JazzWorks Jazz Camp they formed an instant musical bond that has already wowed audiences and critics.
