Since 1980, the TD Ottawa Jazz Festival has presented the finest musicians from across Canada and around the world in all genres and inspirations of jazz.

This has been an extremely challenging year for everyone. For many individual Canadians it has been the most difficult time in their lives. We hope that you and your family are coping and are finding moments of inspiration. For the Ottawa Jazz Festival, it meant the cancellation of our summer event and like many - a huge loss in revenue. One thing that has inspired us is the fortitude and positivity that so many have maintained throughout. Like our partners Top Shelf Distillers who adapted to make hand sanitizer when the country needed it. We have been equally inspired by the commitment of so many to the continuation of the Festival, including an out-of-the-blue anonymous individual who donated $25,000 in May. We are working hard to ensure we are there on the other side, so we can fulfill this dedication, and our collective need for music to enrich the soul!

We need your support to help make that happen.

By supporting the Festival you are also supporting the local economy. There are so many suppliers, restaurants, hotels and other businesses that rely on us and the many other festivals and events that have been cancelled, to keep their businesses going. This is the impetus behind TENACIOUS EATS: to encourage patronage of the local restaurants. Together we can revive Ottawa’s vibrant cultural life and reinvigorate the local economy, creating an even stronger and more vibrant community.

Our commitment to you, the music lover, and to our artists, moved us to engage the ingenuity of our team. This month when we would normally all gather in Confederation Park for the best music in the world, we are presenting TENACITY 2020: a 10 day series of unique and free online performances. Our series ranges from a cross-Canada collective led by Christine Jensen, to Inuk singer-songwriter Elisapie to Festival headliners Badbadnotgood. Currently, we are developing a re-tuned series of events for 2021; an expanded TD Ottawa Winter Jazzfest, and of course a spectacular 40th anniversary Festival next summer.

After an unprecedented late winter and spring we all need the inspiration and comfort of a shared musical experience. We still don’t know when large gatherings will occur, but with your support we can be ready to soar above and become the beating heart of a creative and prosperous community!

If you are in a position to make a charitable gift simply fill out the form below or if you have concerns, email us at contact@ottawajazzfestival.com. We completely understand if you are not able to at this time and hope that you enjoy TENACITY 2020 and that we will see you in June 2021 at Confederation Park. We thank you from our hearts and wish you renewed prosperity.
