Prince showcased at TD Ottawa Winter Jazz Festival

The 33z is a new tribute project initiated by Ed Lister – trumpet (arrangements) and Petr Cancura – saxophones (arrangements) along with local Ottawa musicians Alex Moxon – guitar, Clayton Connell – piano/keyboards, JP Lapensee – bass and Stephen Adubofour – drums. They’ll take on projects by significant composers of our times.

Their first project for the TD Ottawa Winter Jazz Festival on Saturday, Feb. 11, 6pm at La Nouvelle Scène’s (333 King Edward Ave.) Studio B will appropriately celebrate the life and music of Prince, one of the most influential composer/producer/entertainers of our generation.

Each song performed by the 33z will feature a different singer, showcasing some of the city’s major talent including: Angelique Francis, Debbie Braham, Emmanuel Simon, Jeff Rogers, Matthew Chaffey, Megan Jerome and Rebecca Noelle.
